The Me I Want To Be
I came across this book from the recommendation of another pastor in our city. I am glad he told me about it because it really is a good read. Our church family is familiar with the SHAPE concept by Rick Warren. This book takes that concept and drills even deeper in getting a better understanding of how God has uniquely created you, called you and equipped you for His purpose. It takes you on a journey of getting a better understanding of what God has created you to be and to do.

What a privilege it is to a part of the body of Christ. Last week I had the joy of being a part of a kingdom minded team who went to Brazil to build a church, do VBS and evangelism but most importantly the team had a mindset that said “Lord, we are here to serve you by serving the Brazilian people.” We had 15 from Olivet and 6 from the First Baptist Church of Claremore who made up the ministry team. Even though some of the team had never met until we met at the airport to leave, there was a bond because of our common faith in Christ and a desire to be used by Him. We truly grew to love each other and appreciate each giftedness to make our team stronger.

READING: WHERE TO START?
When Jesus was asked, “What is the greatest commandment?” He replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” (Matthew 22 : 36-37). That statement is a reminder to us all that one of the most important ways that we love God is by loving Him with our minds. The idea that being a Christians is about putting your mind on the shelf is just simply not true. How you think is absolutely essential in living the Christian life.
